Glossary
The text that you want to edit must be the only selected element in the chart. This is indicated by four black handles around the text. If you see grey handles it means that there is more than one element selected. If you see hollow grey handles it means that the text is grouped with some other elements and must be ungrouped first.
When the text is ready to edit it will be shown in an edit box in the Drawing Area.
Edit the text using the standard Windows editing methods. Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select all and Undo functions are also available from the Edit menu and button bar. When editing a text element these functions apply to the text only, not to the chart as a whole.
You can also use the Font, Align text and Word wrap functions from the Format menu whilst editing. Again these functions only apply to the text being edited; the TreeDraw defaults are not affected.
If you wish to add a line-break (carriage return) to the text, use Ctrl+Return. Return on its own will finish the edit.
To finish adding the new text, press the Return (Enter) key, right-click anywhere outside of the text-editing box or select a different tool. If you want to abort the edit and ignore all changes you have made, press the Esc key.
