Importing an image from a file
Use "File | Import | Image from file" and select the image you want to add to your chart. TreeDraw supports the following formats:
Windows Bitmap (*.bmp)
Graphics Interchange Format (*.gif)
JPEG (*.jpg;*.jif;*.jpeg;*.jpe)
Kodak Photo CD (*.pcd)
Paintbrush (*.pcx)
Portable Network Graphics (*.png)
Photoshop (*.psd)
Truevision Targa (*.tga;*.targa)
Tagged Image File (*.tif;*.tiff)
Importing an image from a scanner or other TWAIN-compliant device
Use "File | Import | Image from scanner". The first time that you do this you will see a list of TWAIN devices attached to your computer. Select the appropriate device. If you wish to select a different device restart TreeDraw. The scanning window appropriate to your scanner will then open. Proceed with the normal scanning operation. Some scanners will close the window automatically when scanning is complete. If yours does not do that then close the window manually to return to TreeDraw.
After you have selected the image file, scanned the image, clicked on Paste or dropped the file(s), the cursor will change to
and the new image(s)
will be shown as an outline(s). Move the outlines to the required position in the chart and click the left mouse button to place
them. If you want to cancel the operation, press Esc.
If you need to change the size of the new image(s), see Resizing chart elements.
You can prevent images being displayed if the images are large or the screen display is slow, by clearing the "Display images" option in "Options | Preferences | Appearance". This can make scrolling the drawing area faster.
