Use this command to show or hide the ruler.
The ruler lets you measure dimensions on your chart in inches or millimetres. As well as being marked in real units (not just Drawing Area co-ordinates), when the ruler is visible the status bar shows the cursor position in real units relative to the origin of the ruler (where the horizontal and vertical parts of the ruler cross).
The units used are the same as the units in the "Page setup" dialog and you can change from inches to millimetres there.
You can move the ruler by dragging with the left mouse button. Position the cursor where the horizontal and vertical parts of the ruler cross to move in both horizontal and vertical directions. Position the cursor over either the horizontal or vertical part to move only the horizontal or vertical part of the ruler.
If you drag the ruler out past the top-left corner of the visible Drawing Area (so that it disappears) the ruler will remain switched on but will be positioned at exactly the top-left corner. To reposition the ruler, hide and then redisplay it using the commands above.
If you drag the ruler out past the right or bottom edge of the visible Drawing Area this will automatically hide the ruler.
