Glossary
When TreeDraw imports pictures from a Kith and Kin Pro database, it copies a smaller version of the full-sized picture into the chart. However, the name of the original full-sized file is stored as part of the image in the chart so that when you print the chart TreeDraw can use the (better quality) full-sized image instead of the smaller image that you see on the screen.
This is OK as long as your chart (.TDR) files remain on your own PC. If you want to send a chart file to someone else, for printing on a larger format printer for example, you would also have to send the full-sized picture files from the appropriate Kith and Kin Pro /Pictures folder. Use this command to automatically make copies of full-sized images files which are used by the current chart. The recipient should set the path in "Full-sized image folder" to wherever he stores your pictures files so that TreeDraw can find them.
Folder to copy the required images files to
Enter the full path of a new folder to be used exclusively for storing copies of the full-sized image files temporarily; eg. "<My documents>\TreeDraw\Prepare" or click on the Browse button to create a folder. Be careful that you do not select a folder which already contains some needed files, or the "Clear folder first" option will delete them. When this function is complete you will be able to send just the image files in this folder along with the chart (.TDR) file. You may want to compress the files into an archive using WinZip or a similar utility.
Make a copy of the chart (.TDR) file here too
Set this option if you want a copy of the current chart placed in the image folder as well. This makes it easier to gather all the files you need to send - just the files in the selected folder.
Clear folder first
Set this option to delete all the old files from the selected folder before the new copies are made. This option is normally on, otherwise you may end up with some files left over from a previous "prepare" operation.
TreeDraw Viewer
A freeware viewing utility is available which allows other people to view the TreeDraw charts you have created. TreeDraw Viewer can be downloaded from our Web site at www.spansoft.org and is included on registered TreeDraw CD-ROMs. You may distribute the TreeDraw Viewer freely. Note that charts created from illegally used expired shareware copies of TreeDraw display that fact when viewed in TreeDraw Viewer.
